Mill Schermerhorn

This mill is called a lower mill. Together with a second lower mill and two upper mills, a quartet was formed to drain the polder water from the polder into the surrounding canal in 2 steps. The mill was built in 1635 in a mill-rich area around the town of Schermerhorn in the province of North Holland. The adjacent mill is a museum.

Photo was taken during a cloudless sunset.
