Tanah Lot Temple

This Hindu pilgrimage temple is built on a large offshore rock and dates from the 16th century. It’s a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods. During the renovation approximately one third of the temple was replaced by artificial rock.

Ebb and tide provide spectacular views. The appealing sunset makes the temple a popular tourist venue.
